Joey's temper changes drastically. This happens when he starts playing baseball and he thinks he wasn't doing his best. He begins to take it out on his mom. He yells at her and his sister, Jean. He figures out he's not the best player on the team, so he wants to quit. His parents don't want him to quit, but tell him it's his choice. Joey's father talks to him about how John never quit. This makes Joey realize he doesn't really want to give up. He continues to play and in the leauge championship Joey makes his first base hit. This hit wins the championship for his team. Joey gets a Playboy from a friend because he hears the All-American team is in it. He finds that John isn't in the magazine and tells John he should should just win the "Hideman Trophy." John corrects him saying the "Heisman Trophy."
